Who is Port Stephens Accountants & Business Advisors (PSABA)?
Taking over from W Morley & Co Pty Ltd. Port Stephens Accounts & Business Advisors was started by Director Peter Woodford. Peter is a CPA-qualified accountant with over 20 years of experience in public practice, corporate accounting (including a stint at HSBC in London), and business advisory services. Peter began his career as a trainee in 2002 while completing his Commerce degree and has been assisting individuals and businesses ever since. Port Stephens Accountants & Business Advisors are an expert accounting and small to medium business advice firm that strives to provide the best possible outcomes to all clients. Peter and his staff are motivated by the desire to contribute to clients’ success, as we pride ourselves on maintaining the highest level of customer service for all of our valued clients.

W Morley & Co Pty Ltd commenced practice in 1978, creating a philosophy to provide expert accounting and small business advice on time. Port Stephens Accountants & Business Advisors will continue to drive the standards set by W Morley & Co Pty Limited.

Peter Woodford
Director
I’m a CPA-qualified accountant with over 20 years’ experience in public practice, corporate accounting (including a stint at HSBC in London), and business advisory. I started as a trainee in 2002 while completing my Commerce degree, and I’ve been helping individuals and businesses ever since.
Outside the office, I live in Medowie with my wife Jessica and our two kids, Emily (11) and Benji (12) and loyal dog. I’m a passionate sports fan—rugby league, soccer, cricket—and have coached men’s and junior football for over a decade.
Chris McGrath
Accountant
I’ve been part of the practice for 23 years and have worked as an accountant since 2014. I hold a Certificate IV in Administration and have training in BGL, along with some knowledge of MYOB software. Outside of work, I love spending time at the beach with my family and heading to Forster on our boat for our annual holiday.

Administration Manager
Here at PSABA, I support the team by ensuring operations run efficiently and smoothly. Outside of work, I love spending time socializing with friends over a cocktail and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen

Stephen Tolhurst
Consultant
I began my career after graduating from Newcastle University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Commerce. I became a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1993 and was honoured to advance to Fellow status in 2021. With over 35 years of experience as an accountant, I’ve had the privilege of working across a broad range of clients and industries. Outside of work, I enjoy surfing, live music, bike riding, and spending quality time with my kids and grandkids. I’m also a keen supporter of both rugby codes.
